CrowdStrike Offers Uber Eats Vouchers to Partners After Botched Update

Subtle Compensation for Global Shutdown

TechCrunch reports that CrowdStrike, the cybersecurity firm responsible for a botched update that crashed millions of computers worldwide last week, is offering its partners 10 Uber Eats vouchers.

The vouchers are reportedly an apology for the global shutdown caused by the botched update. CrowdStrike initially attempted to send millions of clients a 10 Uber Eats gift card on Tuesday but ultimately did not send any to customers.

Daniel Bernard, CrowdStrike's chief business officer, is said to have sent the offer with a lengthy apology and an Uber Eats code. It is unclear how many partners received the vouchers.

The gesture is a small token of compensation for the major disruption caused by CrowdStrike's error. While it may not fully make up for the inconvenience and potential losses incurred by affected businesses and individuals, it demonstrates the company's acknowledgment of the severity of the situation.
