Kamala Harris Polls Closely Against Trump
Former vice president Joe Biden has decided to stay out of the 2024 presidential race, opening the door for other Democrats such as Kamala Harris to take the nomination.
Harris, who has been polling the same as Biden or just slightly better against Donald Trump per polls taken before Biden withdrew from the race, would face an uphill battle against the former president.
According to a recent poll by The Harris Poll, Harris is polling at 46 percent to Trump's 48 percent. This is a slight improvement for Harris compared to polls taken before Biden withdrew from the race, which showed her trailing Trump by a margin of 45 to 44.
Harris's polling numbers have been relatively stable in recent months, while Trump's have fluctuated slightly. In a hypothetical matchup between Harris and Trump, Trump has led by an average of two percentage points nationally. However, it is important to note that these polls were taken before the 2024 presidential election campaign has officially begun.
It is still too early to say who will be the Democratic nominee for president in 2024. However, Harris's strong polling numbers suggest that she is a serious contender for the nomination. If she is able to win the nomination, she would be the first woman to be elected president of the United States.
