According to Aviation24, an Alaska Airlines Embraer E175 aircraft on Monday en route from Seattle to Redmond declared an emergency and diverted to Portland International Airport (PDX).

The flight, AS2020, departed Seattle at around 1:30 p.m. and landed safely in Portland at 2:30 p.m.

Alaska Airlines issued the following statement Tuesday morning:

"Alaska Airlines flight AS2020, operated by Horizon Air, diverted to Portland International Airport on Monday, August 5, due to a mechanical issue with the aircraft's electrical system. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to the gate under its own power. All passengers and crew disembarked normally and are being assisted with rebooking options."

The cause of the electrical issue is under investigation.
